Gwendolyn P. Sanders, P.E.

After 32 years at Eustis Engineering L.L.C., Mrs. Sanders has more than earned a reputation as the “go-to” person related to all things engineering.  Mrs. Sanders began her professional career with Eustis Engineering in January 1993.  Over her career, she has worked her way up through positions in the company including Associate Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Engineering Manager, and Executive Vice President.  In 2020, Mrs. Sanders became Eustis Engineering’s first woman President.  In this role, she is responsible for day-to-day business operations of the corporation including quality, safety, marketing, and long-term strategic growth.  She also actively participates in engineering design and review processes.  She has earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of New Orleans (UNO), where she continues to give back to the engineering community.  Mrs. Sanders serves on the Industry Advisory Board to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNO.  She is also an advisor to the Louisiana Epsilon Student Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, and a mentor to the Foundations class.  Currently, she serves as a director of the Geo-Institute – Louisiana Chapter and is an Associate Member of the ASCE Design of Foundations for Buildings and Other Structures Committee.  In 2017 and 2021, Mrs. Sanders was named one of 50 Women of the Year by New Orleans’ CityBusiness.  She was also a member of the UNO 25 – Class of 2020 on behalf of Eustis Engineering.  In 2022, she was named ASCE Louisiana Section and New Orleans Branch Outstanding Civil Engineer of the Year.  Mrs. Sanders and her husband reside in New Orleans, and her son attends medical school at LSU Health Shreveport.  The family enjoys music and hiking.
