SOIL MECHANICS LABORATORY
METAIRIE, LOUISIANA
We have immediate openings for Laboratory Technicians in our soils’ lab. Both experienced and unexperienced personnel will be considered for these positions.
The Laboratory Technician at Eustis Engineering performs a variety of standardized tests in accordance with established, clearly defined procedures following explicit oral and/or written instructions at the commencement of the testing process. The technician utilizes a variety of basic laboratory instruments, devices, and equipment in accomplishing these tests.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
