Eustis Engineering Services, L.L.C. recently assisted AM Agrigen Industries in assessing the preliminary geotechnical characteristics of a potentially massive plant to be located in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. AM Agrigen Industries is going through their due diligence process in evaluating a proposed $1.2 billion, 650-acre AMUFE Urea Plant. Our field exploration included the drilling of undisturbed sample type soil test borings to determine subsoil conditions and stratification, and to obtain samples of the various substrata. Additional field exploration will be made when plans are finalized for the plant layout. Eustis Engineering performed soil mechanics laboratory tests and chemical tests on undisturbed samples obtained from the borings to aid in classification of the subsoils and to determine compressibility characteristics and stress history of the foundation soils. Eustis Engineering also performed preliminary geotechnical engineering calculations to assess shallow and deep foundation alternatives for cost estimating purposes.
