Eustis Engineering has immediate openings for all positions within our Metairie office for our drilling department. Both experienced and unexperienced personnel will be considered for these positions.
- DRILLER: The driller is responsible for the movement, set up, and operation of the drill rig and related equipment necessary to complete geotechnical soil borings.
- SOIL TECHNICIAN: The soil technician is responsible for soil classification as well as sample preparation for transportation to our laboratory.
- WRENCHMAN: The wrenchman performs manual tasks to transport, erect, and maintain drilling equipment. The wrenchman may work with the driller to change bits, pipe sections, and samplers as needed.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 or more pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
