Two of Eustis Engineering's Vice Presidents will spend March 2 helping to educate other engineers on important topics concerning the engineering industry today and overcoming design challenges.
Locally, Chad Held, P.E., Eustis Engineering’s Vice President of Marketing, will speak at a workshop called “Making Big Moves” hosted by the Society of Marketing Professional Services’ Southeast Louisiana Chapter on 2 March 2016. He will be one of four other executive level marketing personnel who will discuss “Finding Your Seat at the Table.” The event will focus on marketing and business development in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction. The workshop, which will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans, will address ideas relevant to a competitive, complex global marketplace.

Also on 2 March, James Hance, P.E., Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, will speak at a Group Dinner Meeting hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers chapter in Portland, Oregon. Hance will provide a presentation entitled “Design and Construction Challenges: A Case Study of New Orleans Levees after Hurricane Katrina.” The damage brought on by Hurricane Katrina resulted in a substantial increase in the investment in and focus on flood protection. Hance will draw on his extensive experience with coastal protection and restoration projects to present an engaging discussion of flood protection in the post-Katrina Gulf coast region. Hance said he was invited to speak at the meeting by a colleague who felt the design and construction challenges experienced in the levee rebuilding in the years following Hurricane Katrina would prove interesting and useful to the Oregon-based engineers. Like Louisiana, Oregon has low-lying land with levees that protect critical infrastructure.
