EARLY LEARNING VILLAGE
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA
Eustis Engineering L.L.C. is one of several partners working with The Louisiana Children’s Museum in New Orleans’ City Park to bring local children a new learning and play experience by the end of 2017. The new 55,000 square foot Early Learning Village facility will feature the children’s museum, a nature center, a literacy center, a parent and teacher resource center, an edible garden, a kitchen, a café, and several outdoor multipurpose spaces.
In 2011, Eustis Engineering performed a subsurface exploration for the Early Learning Village that included eight soil borings and engineering analyses for foundation design, which included recommendations for pavements, deep foundation support, estimates of settlement, interaction analyses for laterally loaded deep foundations, and general foundation construction recommendations. In March of 2016, Eustis Engineering performed construction materials testing for the project, including the implementation of a test pile program, static and dynamic pile load tests, logging of probe and test piles, and vibration monitoring during construction activities. Ongoing construction materials testing services are anticipated once production pile driving begins.
