The Harrison County Sand Beach Authority's Beach Nourishment Project is set to renourish various stretches of beach between Henderson Point in Pass Christian, Mississippi and Point Cadet in Biloxi, Mississippi. The borrow material sands will be dredged from nearby areas to renourish the existing Mississippi coastline. Brown, Mitchell & Alexander, Inc. requested Eustis Engineering perform a geotechnical exploration to assess the suitability of the proposed dredged materials.
Eustis Engineering drilled 72 soil borings to depths of 5 feet below the mudline using a MacroCore® (MC7) sampler on a Geoprobe® drill rig mounted onto a jack-up barge. Laboratory tests were performed, and interpretations were made regarding the stratigraphy and subsoil conditions at the boring locations.
